I am the mother of three children who are a blessing and a positive challenge for me! They are also very supportive. Midwives lead crazy lives, so it's a tremendous blessing to be surrounded by a family who cheers me on!
I have been fascinated with birth since I was a child, so when my children were all in school it came time to finish my education. I knew exactly what I wanted to do, so I jumped in and haven't looked back! I feel so grateful to be a small part of something so miraculous!
In addition to being a midwife, I enjoy gardening very much. Reading is also one of my favorite pastimes, as is singing, and doing puzzles with my brothers when we get together for holidays. I also treasure my quiet time in the mornings when I get to study. My favorite time of all though is time with my kids!
All of my CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation certificates are current, and I have completed the PEP program for direct-entry midwives created by the North American Registry of Midwives, and have well over the required number of births, prenatals, and postpartum exams required. I have also completed many extra courses to supplement my training. Continuing Education is an important part of the Midwifery Model of Care, so I continue to learn from my peers and other experts in the field on a regular basis.
I'm willing to travel to many areas in Utah, so please feel free to call and find out if yours is one of them. Free consultations are gladly arranged as well. If you decide you need a different type of care than what I can offer, I'll gladly give you some names of other midwives in the area. I have a healthy respect for a family's right to choose their caregiver!
I love what I do, and so do the assistants who work with me, and we hope that love comes across as we care for our birthing moms!
